You're right, Powell's, not Porter's. Not only does the downtown store take up an entire city block, filling a four story building on that block, but there are several other locations around the city, each large, though not so large as the downtown one. I visited Powell's (and spent so much money on books that I had to have them shipped home because I couldn't take them myself with the limited capacity I had) when I was-in-the Ecological Society of America meeting. Dozens of fellow meeting participants were-in-the store when I was there. In fact, the store was the talk of the meeting!
