Any small fish should eat daphnia, brine shrimp, Grindal worms, tubifex
worms, chopped blackworms. Weaning to pellet or flake food is not always easy.
However, flake food is mostly not very tasty for fish, IME, except those based on
fish like Omega-One freshwater flakes. Pellet foods like Purina ultramax needs
to be cracked with a mortar and pestle or between your fingernails for it to
be taken by many fish.
