Just got back from the Newport Aquarium, south of Cincinnati, Oh. They had a couple of nice native displays, and a HUGE Exhibit feature local fauna such as sturgeon, huge blue channel cat, some sort of car and lots of bass. They also had some small (12"?) paddle fish stuck in a display with some american alligators and gambusia? I was most impressed with a smaller display of some type of Centrarchid and darters. Very interesting creatures. Plenty of Goodeids and other mexican livebearers as well. I think they were using Ameca splendens as feeder colonies for some of their turtles.

If anyone is planning to collect some darters around Columbus, OH, please drop me a line. I might like to hook up with you.

Peace,
