I really like them. They do seem to bring out the colors and they do not
get real hot. I do put a piece of clear acrylic between the light and the
top of the tank. I don't want the fish to accidently jump and hit the bulb.
I do have 2 of the 60 watt warm white on a 10 gallon and after 10 hours of
being on the water temperature has risen to 78 degrees from 72 degrees.
They also make a 200 watt that uses only 40 watts of electricity. My
fishroom is roughly a 10'X12' and one of those bulbs is all I need. I have
read that these bulbs do not get as much color shift over their life as a
standard flourescent does.
