My yellowfin shiners have started to color up, female heavy with eggs. Two
males are getting the electric glowing color like rainbow shiners. These
are the orange fin variety of yellowfins that we collected-in-the convention
last summer. From photos the yellowfins the bodies turn solid red with the
black stripe hidden with yellowfins and a yellowish blue top to their heads.
The color so far does not hide the black stripe. I had believed that the
orange fin var. would still have orange fins when in breeding color. these
male fins have almost turned white. Hopefully eggs soon.
