Wow, that's a nice longear, if that's what it is. The longears we have in the Potomac River have a gold color in the underside I've never seen one that has a reddish underside, like in the photo.

In the Potomac River, the longear sunfish has been introduced, and the redbreast is native. I've never seen anything that I thought could be a hybrid of the two.
