Beware: I had a group of maybe 6 fieryblacks in a 20 gallon long.
The males had well developed tubercles which they used to beat up the
females who got fungus on those injuries and all died. Based on that
experience, I would want to use a larger tank next time or monitor
the action very closely. I never found any eggs. Other than that,
these fish were very easy to keep in a tightly covered aquarium.
Very active and colorful. Also very jumpy, kind of like those creek
chubs we were talking about.
