Don't feel badly. I once dropped a nikon coolpix into
a Georgia spring that I was photographing because I
was handling both a digital and slr camera. I wanted
digi pics and slides. When I went to take a close up
of the spring discharge, I knelt down in the water and
my hip pushed the coolpix out of my fisherman's vest
right into the water. Needless to say I didn't use
that camera for a few days, but after it dried out, it
still worked fine.
BTW, the slides didn't turn out, the battery in the
slr petered out about half way through the film. LOL
