Fort Fisher, it's at the southern end of New Hanover County, NC. This beach
really needed protection from many people who only used it to check out their
new SUVs and to party and drink with the usual resulting trash. Lots of sea
birds nest there as well as sea turtles. Many of us who use the beach have helped
setting up fences and marking off nesting areas as well as cleaning up the
beach in the summer. I just thought the few who really cared about the beach
should have been given more access to the beach. I really don't mind the fees but
night time on the beach is my favorite time to fish, and or just relax under
the stars while the waves crash onshore. I will miss that a lot.
