NANFA-- Crushed coral

The other disadvantage of crushed coral is that you can't use it when you
need to do lots of largescale water changes. It takes awhile for it to
raise the carbonate hardness of the water. If you're raising fry for rapid
growth, you may need to do 80-95 percent water changes per day. It's much
easier on the fish if you can mix the chemical components in the new water
to match the components in the old water.
