I've raised Zebra Danios several times. liquid fry works fine but only untill
they're large enough to eat brine shrimp napulli. They need a great deal of
food to survive and grow well. Generaly flake food doesn't do the trick, but
you could try to reduce it to a very fine powder. One pair will lay several
hundred eggs every two weeks. They and all their tank mates enjoy the fresh
egg meal. There are lots of tricks for saving the eggs but marble in the
bottom of the spawning tank works great. Even with massive amounts of napulli
many stunt so you have a variety of sizes. The old stand by Exotic Aquarium
Fishes by Innes gives good solid info on breeding and raising. It is amazing
that any fry in a community tank ever survive.
