I also suggest considering hardy fishes for small tanks
and not the delicate types.
In my novice fishkeeping days, I tried a pair of Enneacanthus
cheatedon in a 2G hex tank. E. cheatedon is a delicate fish
as many of you know. They didn't survive very long (mostly
due to being picky about thier food and possibly dead snails).
Later, I kept some Heterandia formosa in the same tank for about
3 months without changing water and they did OK (java moss
and UG filter).
Heterandia formosa is one *tough* little survivor.
