ive been picking up lately that native fish are in need of rescue from glass
shrimp feeder tanks.
a terrible, wasteful and brutal death for our natives to be consumed by
tropical foreigners. :)
last year my fav pet store called me several times and they fished out blue
fin killies, swamp darters, least killies and the coolest... several seminole
killies.
make the pet store rounds as they are starting to show up in tanks again. it
must be a seasonal or flooding occurance that gets them into the glass shrimp
collection nets.
i understand that the shrimp offered here come from the orlando area. often
tropical fish juvis are in the tanks too and im told that overflowing tropical
fish farm ponds are the cause.
anyway...
rescue a native.
