Assuming your orangethroats are from Ohio, they should have fewer and more
diffuse bars on the side than rainbows, and a different body profile- more
hump-backed than rainbows, with the body deepest under the beginning of the
first dorsal fin. The males differ a lot in coloration, most notably the
lack of red slashes in the anal fin in orangethroats, and more brick-red on
the body in orangethroats in contrast to generally orange bands in rainbows.
Once you get a feel for the differences in banding pattern on the males, the
females should make more sense.
