Thanks for all the imput on our mystery sunfish. I have seen many hybrids
before but this takes the cake for me! It was a rather attractive fish and
the vertical red and blue barring was very unusual. I have to agree that it
had some redbreast in it and who knows what else.

I didn't check the gill rakers out and I don't believe Nick or Jeff did
either. This fish looks alot different than the redbreast (or bluegill)
that we found in this stream.
