ive got several asian clams that have lived for at least 2 years now. they
are in a heavily planted 10 gallon tank w/ about 2" of sand, soil, kitty litter
and capped w/ gravel. lots of detris too. i do have a corner air driven
filter... that i rarely clean.
i like the fact that the clams act like little filter machines.

years ago i had tried them in coarse graveled ug filtered tanks and they
never lived more than a few months.
