NANFA-- Dipnets: Deep vs. Shallow

Since several discussions have revolved around nets I thought I would
ask you guys which you prefer and why; dipnets that have a shallow net
or a deep net.
I have used a shallow net for a couple of years now and prefer the quick
accessability I have to the catch and the reduced amount of leaf litter
that I pull from the streams and lakes.

I would imagine that a deep net prevents fish from jumping out or
escaping, but I haven't witnessed too much of this. Your thoughts?
