Wade, I use both UGF and "back-o-the-tank" filters on my tanks. I have not
noticed that one is any better then the other. I have a 55 with a UGF and
two power heads and another 55 with a Penguin Emporer. Both are spotless. I
also have smaller tanks with Aquaclears and they are also spotless. I think
it's more of a personal preference thing and ensuring that the tank is
properly maintained, regardless of the type of filtration.
