Speaking of which, I saw a pearl darter (endemic to MS) for the first
time yesterday. The museum had a single specimen tucked away
in a small tank in an odd corner of the fish room. Thursday we are
going out to do some collecting for the blackwater stream exhibit.

It makes me mad when I go to all the trouble of having Marta cook up about
a hundred drumsticks, and the guy at the Marineland says, "You can't throw
chicken to the dolphins. They eat fish." Sure they eat fish, if that's all
you give them. Man, wise up.
