You shouldn't have a problem in Alabama. I just checked 6 of the parks via telephone last weekend. They had plenty of space available. Have fun Todd.

Hi gang,

We're pinning down the itenerary for Spring Fling 2006, Part Duh...

I wondered, how much of the evacuees have been housed-in-state parks? I ask
this, because almost the entire trip, we'll be camping... And I just can't
deal without a "plan" lol.

I was just looking-in-Wind Creek State Park in Alabama, which will be base
to Coosa/Hatchet Creek and possibly the Tallapaloosa. They mentioned they
had "FEMA campsites, the rest are first come, first serve".

Should I be concerned enough to make phone calls to the places we plan to
stay? I didn't see any of this mentioned on the FL SP sites.

FWIW...

We're looking-in-Rainbow Springs SP, FL the evening of April 13th and during
the day on April 14th. We will be meeting up with Ryan's old advisor from
Eckerd to sample turtles, but that doesn't mean we can't look-in-the fish
:)

We'll be in Tampa/St Pete during the day on April 15th.

Gonna try and hook up with El Mysteryman on the 16th (drive morning) and/or
17th, thinking we're going to stay-in-Blackwater River SP, FL. (Any
thoughts about that? The locality, not Trey... sheesh ;)

18th, looking-in-Wind River SP for the evening.

19th (drive) and 20th, back-in-the Little Buffalo in TN. My goodness, was
that stream awesome. Hopefully get into a little "smawjaw" rod-n-reel
action as well.

Be the change you want to see.
