I suppose that no discussion of "hypo" ( this stuff is also used in the
photography world as a fixative they call hypo ) would be complete without
mentioning the fact that this stuff is one of the most horrible tasting
substances on earth. Try it if you don't believe me, but be sure to have a
puke bucket handy.
Now consider the fact that the sense of taste possessed by a fish is
hundreds of thousands of times more accute than our own, and you can
understand how the use of thiosulphate can be considered cruelty.
Just a little something to think about, if you care. There are other
products available like "Prime" and such which have no such taste, in case
you're interested.
