You could add up to a half cup of salt per gallon of water, and the mummichog will be ok.

A while back I collected my 3 mummichogs from a flat on Mason Neck, in the tidal freshwater Potomac. So far, I have been keeping them in pure freshwater. However, they got ick and have resisted 2 weeks of treatments. Think I should add salt? They did come from freshwater, but maybe they ended up there during a storm or something.
