Mark,
Back in the late 80's I went collecting with a guy from Syracuse NY. We hit a creek coming out of a lake and found a few ling about 6 - 8 inches long. My understanding is they are only there part of the year, spending most of their life in deep parts of the lake. Sometime this year I'd like to check it out again, when it warms up, maybe late spring. If so I'll keep you in mind.
