When other specimens have been added, the perch "try them out" and nip-in-them
and everything (they can't do lights out totally because it's in a lighted
rotunda). But not so much try out with today's arrival. The following
discussion occurred:
"It was interesting to watch all the perch school up BEHIND the bowfin. It
was like the whole tank went 'Oh crap! Who let him in!?'"
"They were saying... 'Hey man! That's 100 million years of bada**!'"
"Who's that? Senor Calva?"
"Yes, the design that's been produced not once, but twice, in evolutionary
history."
"What? The snakehead? That's just the cheap Chinese knock off."
The rest of the department must think the fish guys are off our rockers. But
I guess we can't expect too much from people who get excited about dirt,
mathmatical models and carbon <evil grin>
