Matt I live in NC and you will have to have a fishing license. I also have a
special devices permit just in case I run into a game warden who has a low
level of tolerance for dip netters. So far in almost 33 years of collecting I
have been stopped twice and never asked for my license. I live more about 5 hours
from Greensboro and I am not familiar with eh fish up there either. Have fun,
if you ever come down to Wilmington I can show you around here?
