well for those following the excitement of my 2 pickerel. i put them out
about 2 weeks ago in a 8 by 16 pond with shallow water. the water cooled to
40F and came up to about 64F a few times. however, the nanfa article on
breeding of pickerel seemed to be looking for 66F. anyway it was nice and
warm saturday and sunday. today the water went to 74F well above the 66F.
so today being my birthday. maybe they spawned. of course we do not know
the sex of the 2 pickerel. and cannot be sure if this was enough to
simulate winter. but i did keep them at 54F most of the winter. so this is
definitely their first time above 64F. and in the house they never got
above 60 F and only approached that on the last day as i was putting them
outside.

does anyone have any idea when to look for some tiny fry hatched out??

of course I will be looking every day. i will let you know if anything
happens. tomorrow is suppose to be a wonderful warm day also.

well these are NANFA pickerel so I have to keep you guys informed. hehe.
having fun. i love reading all and every email. keep having fun guys.
this is great.
