NANFA-- turtles

The turtle nests that I protected last year are birthing their little turtles.
Best I can tell they are Midlands painted by the markings on the bottoms of
their shells.There seems to be two types,one with a creamy colored background
with the mark in the middle and some smaller ones with an orange background.
Anyone know if they might be different species/subspecies or if it is just
normal variation in the color. The snapper nests haven't shown any activity
yet.
