I remember one slow muddy bottomed creek near Henrietta NY off rt 15 I used to often find both tadpole and brindled madtoms in beer, soda cans and miscellaneous bottles. Also under many sunken hunks of driftwood, just lift it up with one hand swish a dipnet with the other. There was an unbelievable amount of trash in this creek but at least it was good for something. I've never caught any madtoms in my minnow trap but using canned cat food have gotten bullheads, channel cats, sunnies and shiners.
