Is that tank grounded Jeremy? Take a multitester and see if you're carrying
stray current. I have an article posted here to describe better.

http://www.farmertodd.com/library/rkessentials/electricity.asp

It's geared toward marine aquaria, but you'll see what I mean and how to test.
The electric circuit that the 35 is on, may have a faulty ground (I've seen
everything from unstripped wire on the nut to someone not even attempting to
put it on a nut. Older houses sometimes just have a hot and a neutral) OR it
just happens to be the one with equipment gone awry. I mean we are putting
two pronged electrical equipment in water, right? :)

The symptoms are pretty straight on. If this isn't the case, we'll have to
think about this a bit more. If it is, we can discuss action from there.

Here is a question that some might be able to answer. Senerio:

Three tanks (30 gal, 35 gal, and 10 gal) with everything from the
same location (e.g. water, fish, substrate, mussel valves, food,
etc.), and ratios for the tank are all the same. Everything is the
same except location (living room, living room, bedroom,
respectively) I cannot ever keep fish color in my 35 gal. I can
transplant fish from one tank to another, and when they are in the 35
gal... POOF... no color. The only thing that I can think of is
chemicals in the sealant. Any comments?

>This past week I have found 3 dead fish on the floor.

>Can anyone explain this to me, it is rather depressing. I'm not going to get
>more fish until I find out what is wrong with the little guys.
