What do you mean by "large grained"? I have been using pool filter sand for a very long time. It is what I would call regular sand size, white quartz. If it is too bright for your liking, get 1 small bag of Estes black marine sand from the LFS, and mix a handful into the white sand. Looks very cool, and doesn't pack down like playsand. Go to any pool supply store for the sand. Dirt cheap 50 lb. bags for what, 5 bucks or something? HTH, Ron
