There seem to be a number of varieties of small earthworms available at
local bait dealers. I don't know what type we have, but the local (Tucson
Tackle and Bait) variety is eaten ravenously by most of my fishes. I must
admit that "desert" fishes have to take what they can get, but a few, such
as Boneytail Chubs, will have nothing to do with them. It might be a good
area of study for someone with a little time available, to determine if any
particular types are more palatable, to the fishes that is.
I knew a fellow in Tennessee, years ago who raised earthworms, and he
seemed to have at least four, or five different types. Other than that, I
am clueless!
