I didn't want to try this one because I don't have my distribution maps
at hand, but I agree with Bruce. I caught some juvenile brook
silversides in an irrigation ditch in the Chateauguay River Valley of
southern Quebec last Spring. They were so slender they passed right
through my minnow trap, but I caught some for a look with a large
aquarium net. Neat fish - much like what you described.
I didn't keep them because I've read they do poorly in aquaria. Does
anyone have direct experience?
