Some darters will take freezedried bloodworms (aquatic insect larvae), of
which the best deal is probably from Brine Shrimp Direct at
www.brineshrimpdirect.com. A two ounce bag costs about $6 plus shipping, and
will probably last a while (unless you're a commercial hatchery...). Failing
that, try buying bait worms at your local bait store. If you have a good
enough slasher streak, dice them into lil' pieces with a razor blade and
your darters will be your best pals.
