A few days ago I read a commentary on the overall water supply situation in
China, I believe (although I'm not positive) it was in the current issue of
Scientific American. It stated that roughly 80% of China's rivers are so
polluted they no longer support fish.
The Yellow River was mentioned as one of the most polluted, plus it
reportedly goes completely dry for several months each year as a result of
water being drawn off for irrigation and other uses.

Subject: NANFA-- off topic-China fishes

Is anyone familiar with fishes of the Huang He River (Yellow River) in
northern China? How about any references to fishes of China? Thanks.
