Thanks to the friendly folks at IL-DNR, they recently specify that
only Cyprinids can be siened and kept.

There is a story there involving a meeting between
NANFA members (incl the late Claus Sutor) and IL-DNR folks
and how it turned out. You'll have to get Elmer Guerri to
tell that story since I have only heard bits and pieces
of it.

Darters are specifically left out. So, technically, you aren't
supposed to siene up and keep darters for non-scientific use
when collecting with a mere fishing license.

That is one of the reasons why I don't keep darters.
