I think that education of the public about NA natives, especially non-game
species has always been a component of NANFA. Sometimes it is pursued with
more vigor than others. I am excited that interest in this aspect of
NANFA's goals seems to be increasing.

Luke, this is not a NANFA Board-endorsed issue. It's just a
bunch of us kicking around ideas on this list. Most of us know
that the NFC has a program, and anyone interested in it should
be encouraged to visit the NFC site to learn more. There is
plenty of room for different ideas and ways to pursue fish science
education, and we've simply been exploring those ideas, not
trying to duplicate what NFC is doing.
